Welcome to Shaded Road

I' ll keep this short and sweet........
I'm Khadija Mcbain and I'm the founder of Shaded Road. I took the plunge in 2015 and did the ol' British rite of passage of living in Australia for one year on a working holiday visa, followed by backpacking in SE Asia for one year. It was the right time professionally and personally in my life to take my postponed 'gap year' and I thought If it wasn't for me then I'll come home.

Thankfully that wasn't the case and I loved every bit of it, there were extreme ups and few downs. I wondered why I hand't done long term travelling/living abroad before. I knew why...I didn't have the courage! I don't want anyone else to lose courage when considering travelling and created Shaded Road for this purpose and a few others.
